POSA Faq's
Q. Is POS necessary to market Prepaid
Phone Cards?
A. It is not necessary, but it is a better way to market phone cards.
Why? Because POS benefits all of those involved from the Agent,
to the retailer, to the consumer.
Q. Why would established Phone Card
retailers want to switch to POS Cards? A. To simplify transactions
and accelerate payments.
— POS processing eliminates paying up front for inventory
— Eliminates employee theft because the cards have no value
until swiped
— Avoids stocking cards of different denominations therefore
saving valuable counter space
— Cards can be activated for any amount ($3 or more) the customer
wishes to pay
— Merchant remits no payment to Agent or Card Company
— All accounting and reporting is handled on-line
— The retailer’s card inventory is automatically replenished
as they run low.
— Most importantly, this can all be accomplished instantly
through a retailer’s existing POS machine!
Q. What advantages does the Agent
enjoy by marketing POS Cards instead of cash-and-carry Phone Cards?
A. POS eliminates the hassles of advance payment for inventory and
consignment pay-outs.
There is no need for repeat visits necessary to replenish inventory,
no collections to make, and no remittances to the providing carrier.
All of this is done electronically. Finally, there is no waiting
for monthly commission statements to see how your accounts are performing.
With SPECTRUM POS, you can track everything daily — even hourly.
Q. How complicated is it to adapt
the retailer’s POS terminal to the Spectrum system?
A. Its incredibly simple! Our software can be downloaded by following
the instructions we provide in less than 3 minutes! The sales clerk
is prompted through each transaction, requiring very little training.
Q. How are my commissions determined?
A. Sales Agents have the flexibility of setting their profit margins
within given parameters on each of the several cards we offer. Organizations
such as Master Agents, Processors, and ISO's make a fixed percentage
on all sales from each terminal.
Q. How aggressive are Spectrum's
International Rates?
A. VERY aggressive. Perhaps the lowest you will find anywhere. And
our programs that are tailored for various ethnic groups will be
welcomed by retailers catering to those markets.
Q. How can Spectrum offer such low
rates?
A. Unlike phone card brokers which resell minutes and contract for
switching time, Spectrum is a full-service telecommunications company
that owns and operates its own switches and has developed its own
POS software. This enables us to minimize network and access costs.
This also assures the maximum quality and value for our customers.
Spectrum also designs and creates all the cards it sells, and employs
a full-time customer service staff which further minimizes our overhead.
Q. How can I track the card sales
activity at the locations I have signed-up?
A. Beginning February, 2004 you can access this information through
the Spectrum Web site (www.spectrum-wireless.com) . You can view
the card activation on a real-time basis as well. To access all
sales activity, you will need an assigned agent code. This prevents
others from accessing your locations.
Q. Once I have received my new POS
terminal, how do I program it?
A. Once you have received your POS terminal it should already be
programmed so all you need do is plug in the power, a phone line,
and your ready to start activating Spectrum products. In the event
that it is not programmed, just call the Spectrum technical support
department, and one of our highly trained TSR’s will be glad
to assist you with all of your POS needs.
Q. How much can I activate the cards
for, do I have to activate them in the usual $5, $10, or $20 denominations?
A. No, you do not have to activate our cards in the traditional
denominations used by most card companies. When you use Spectrum
long distance cards one of the benefits is flexibility. You can
activate & recharge our cards in any amount from $3 to $100,
and in the event of a mistake the cards can be deactivated.
Q. Suppose someone steals the cards
from my store do I loose any money?
A. POS stands for Point Of Sale so the cards have no nominal value
until it is activated at the time of the sale. If the cards are
stolen from your store the only thing you really loose is plastic.
Q. I have quite a few employees how
can I keep track of who sold what and how much they sold?
A. When you sell Spectrum POS products we provide you with user
management. This feature gives you the ability to assign a password
to each employee, which will allow you to track what product they
sold, how much it was sold for, when it was sold, and who sold it.
You will be able to run reports for the current days sales, a specific
day, or date range all done from your POS terminal.
Q. What’s going to stop my
employees from activating cards for personal use or activating cards
for a customer and pocketing the money?
A. When you sell SPECTRUM POS products we provide you with user
management. This feature gives you the ability to assign a password
to each employee so that in order to activate any POS SPECTRUM product
they must first enter their 3 to 4 digit password. This password
directly ties them to the sale. |
